Gratitude Week Day #1

For me gratitude is something that is a daily occurrence. However, I don’t always share everything I’m thankful for with others, and feel as though I need more than just a day to share some of the major things I’m thankful for. Especially for the last year, where a lot of things have changed. As such I’m going to share some things every day this week. Don’t really have a format and some things might just be lists and other things might get explanations. If you want to join in feel free to post alongside this week or share with those who mean a lot to you.

In the past year a lot of things have changed for me. During that change I’ve been thankful for a lot of things, but more than anything else I’m thankful for the new people that have invited me into their communities or families. Obviously one of the first ones I have to thank is my workplace. Without the work opportunity I most likely wouldn’t be in the position I am in today. Additionally, while it wasn’t a requirement of the job, so many people at work have taken the time to get to know me and make work feel less impersonal.

The second group that I want to thank is the church community that has welcomed me as one of it’s members. While I’ll get a little more in-depth for this one later this week, it’s important to realize that if it wasn’t for this church I’d also be in a very different position today than where I was when I first moved here. I’ve been welcomed, challenged, loved, invited, and so many other things by people who were once strangers that I now consider friends. I look forward to what the next year has in store.
