Today my family had our big family dinner. Before the meal my 4 year old nephew and niece said the prayer. They wanted to say thank you for the people, for the food, for the beautiful day… and then there was a pause… and that’s all, Amen. Now this isn’t necessarily a ground breaking theological world changing prayer, but it’s interesting what the mind of a child is thankful for. There wasn’t a thank you for all the toys. It was simple and to the point, and that was it. Something to learn from?
