For those lacking things to do or who are already a part of the craze, the League of Legends World Tournament started today. Granted the time to watch said games starts in the 5-2am range depending on what part of the US you live in. The group state might not seem like that big of a deal, but consider that this tournament is could have a larger world coverage than pretty much any other event other than the World Cup or Olympics. Think that’s a joke? Consider the fact that in China and Korea, League is considered prime time television. Not an obscure nerd only channel on youtube or some other website, but PRIME tv. This year the live viewership will most likely be in the millions (not including the sold out soccer stadium that will host the finals). When the tickets to an event sells out within minutes, that’s normally a pretty good sign.
