Today, I randomly (like it was the bookmark of a book I haven’t read in 5 years) found some notes from a philosophy class I took in undergrad. The point of the notes centered around the argument of if you change your brain in various ways are you still you? For example, if you drink a lot of gin… it changes your brain composition (the effects of drinking) so is “drunk” you the same as “sober” you? In addition to that there were lots of points about how cells change over time, things like memory and knowledge change. Therefore, are you the same person over time? What affect does that have on things like your soul? Do you have a soul? Does drinking affect your soul? Just an interesting thought process for a lazy Sunday I guess.
