One of the fun parts about being an uncle is that when the “adults” want to talk I usually get to play with my nieces and nephews. It’s highly enjoyable to me because most of the time I get to “learn” how to do things that I did for years as a child. For example, it’s fun to be told how to build things with Legos. While I have a very large collection from when I was a child, it’s funny to be treated as if I’ve never seen Legos before in my life. Similarly, having the same books read over and over to you because you haven’t heard it in awhile is always fun. If only because it reminds us that kids see the world in such a different way.
