Since a few people were interested when I listed my favorite books I thought I would give an update on what I’ve been reading, what I am reading, and a few plans for what I’m going to read after that.
I just finished up the Wheel of Time series by Robert (great series if you’re into 15 1000 page books about magic and stuff). I’ve also been reading some “classic” sport psychology literature again. Heads-Up Baseball by Ken Ravizza, The Inner Game of Tennis by Timothy Gallwey. I have also spent a bit of time re-reading parts of the Cambridge Handbook of Experts and Expertise by K. Anders Ericsson and company. Also I read the Checklist Manifesto by Atul Gawande (highly recommend).
I’ve started to read Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer, Coaching Mental Excellence by Vernacchia, McGuire, and Cook, and Organization Change and Development: A Systems view by Michael Beer.
When I finish these I have a couple more books by Atul Gawande to read, a little bit of Malcolm Gladwell, and then I also plan to get a lot more in-depth on some sport specific books to help with generating some content for my career path. If you have any recommendations, feel free to send them my way. Both educational and fiction when well written can be worthwhile.
